Jon Gosselin has discovered the secret that makes it easy for him to morph from lapdog to lothario.

Bachelor pad. Check. Sexy shades. Check. Flat screen TV. Check.

Jon Gosselin's got it all, plus a boyish smile, charm to spare, and a chick-magnet vulnerability that makes it easy for him to morph from lapdog to lothario.

As octodad sheds his image of dutiful husband and slips with ease into the role of seducer, he's been spotted hanging in St. Tropez and Southhampton with smitten gal pals at least a decade younger.

It's easy for a twenty-something to look with rose colored glasses past Gosselin's recent slips, like reportedly having a sleepover with his kids' new babysitter, and see a hands-on, if wronged, dad.

"He's picking up a lot of women who are trying to rescue him," says Mary Jo Rapini, psychotherapist and co-author of "Start Talking." "He's going out and being manipulative and hurting everyone he comes in contact with, but the further he goes with this, women feel like he is just misunderstood."

Women also love Gosselin's neediness, says psychotherapist Nancy Brooks, mental health expert on JustAnswer.

"His demeanor is quite passive and very cooperative," she says. "Women are attracted to men who they feel will be there for them, men who will do what they want."

Gosselin has crafted a bad-boy image for himself, and women love it, says Sasha Pasulka, managing editor of EvilBeetGossip.com.

"He's all over the Manhattan party scene, he's rich and famous, and he divorced the mother of his children so he's kind of a bad boy," she says. "Women, especially younger women, like a famous bad boy with money. They have a sense of competitiveness and are looking to prove to the world that they're more fun and more sexy than Kate, who was never very sexual toward Jon and who dressed like a mom."

Jon, on the other hand, sure isn't dressing like an overworked dad these days.

Whether perched on a rock in Central Park eating a hot dog or on the party circuit, he's dressing the part of a laid-back single guy.

Arriving at JFK recently, he sported a tiger-head Ed Hardy T shirt, black Converse sneakers and worn jeans. Spotted with 22-year-old party girl Hailey Glassman freshly back from St. Tropez, he donned a white button up shirt and a black sports coat.

So should any of his numerous recent dates expect that this bad boy will settle down any time soon?

"Jon's not the faithful type," says Rapini. "Men like him are very good at connecting with women, and the woman starts to feel as if he is there for her. But he's just there to boost his own ego
