Big Brother contestant Marcus Akin is the latest participant to be voted off the Channel 4 reality TV show.

The 35-year-old window fitter lost out to events organisers Siavash Sabbaghpour, 23, in the public vote.

The housemates have been locked up for 12 weeks, but the series comes to an end next Friday.

As well as Siaviash, Rodrigo Lopes, Sophie Reade, Lisa Wallace, Charlie Drummond and David Ramsden remain.

One person will be voted off the show on Tuesday during a surprise eviction and the winner will be named on Friday's live show.

This year 22 contestants were put into the house.

Earlier this week, the housemates broke the Big Brother rules and were told the prize money had been taken away.

However, they have since been set tasks to win some of the cash back.

On Wednesday, Channel 4 announced that next year's Big Brother series will be the last.

Ratings for the show have declined in recent years, with the current run the least watched in its nine year history.

The new series has attracted about two million viewers per show, compared with an audience high of eight million in 2002.
