Motorola To Release WinMo 7-based Caesar Soon, Windows Mobile 7 Beta Already Out?

0

Previously we’ve said that Microsoft has the worst plans for Windows Mobile, and it looks like they want to kill the mobile platform. We already know that Windows Mobile 7 is in the making, but we didn’t know that it already reached the beta phase. Meanwhile Windows Mobile 6.5 is coming on October 6th, and Motorola is now focusing on Google Android OS, rather than Microsoft’s platform. The connection between all of these? Well, Motorola is not totally dumping WinMo, in fact a so-called Caesar features Windows Mobile 7, and it should be available sometime in Q2 2010.

Although it has been reported that Microsoft will release WinMo 7 in late 2010, a software engineer at Motorola has posted on his LinkeIN account that he joined the Caesar product development with Windows Mobile 7.0 beta as runtime environment. Thing is that the product must comply to the Chassis 1 requirements meaning that it has to feature a big touchscreen, and a lot of processor power. So this means that Motorola is preparing a very fast WinMo 7-based touchscreen smartphone that is coming sometime before the summer of 2010.

Is this real? We sure hope it is. Earlier we’ve been talking about the competition between the iPhone OS, Symbian, BlackBerry, and Android, but how could we have forgotten Windows Mobile? This is just getting better and better and the consumers are the ones who will gain the most.
