Chris Evans defended his controversial move to the Radio 2 breakfast show yesterday - as irate fans of Sir Terry continued to heap scorn on his replacement.

But as Sir Terry urged support for Evans, loyal Togs bombarded the Radio 2 message board.
One wrote: "Can't think of anyone less suited to the Breakfast Show. As usual the BBC disregards its listeners for someone hip and edgy."
Another said: "The day Evans takes over is the day I switch off."
