MISSOURI
KANSAS CITY - A medical helicopter was low on fuel when it crashed in a northwest Missouri field, killing all four people onboard, officials said yesterday. A 58-year-old female patient, a pilot, and two workers died when the craft went down about 7 p.m. Friday about 20 miles northeast of Kansas City. Investigators said the helicopter planned to land at an airport near Mosby for fuel when it crashed, but no distress call was received. It was based in Englewood, Colo. (AP)

Head of IMF calls for debt reductions JACKSON - The economic recovery is in danger of derailing, the International Monetary Fund head said yesterday as she called on leaders to take aggressive action. Christine Lagarde, at a conference of top bankers and economists, said leaders must address long-term debt problems in the United States and Europe. The world is endangered by “a growing sense that policymakers do not have the conviction, or simply are not willing, to take the decisions that are needed,’’ she said. (Washington Post)
Dead hiker found near bear activity YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK - Park rangers are investigating whether a man found dead along a trail was killed by a grizzly bear. The man was found Friday morning by other hikers on the Mary Mountain Trail. Authorities announced the death yesterday but did not identify the man. Officials said the hiker was in his 60s and a native of Michigan, but withheld further identification pending family notification. They said there were signs of bears in the vicinity. (AP)
