Why This Job: SENIOR JIB ACCOUNTANT
In this Senior JIB Account role, you will ensure quality and reliability in the company’s accounting, consolidation accounting, and internal reporting. You will collaborate with the Corporate Accounting Manager, the corporate accounting team, finance, and other functions, to deliver on day-to-day business accounting needs. What You’ll Actually Do:
- Responsible for the company’s financial procedures, records, and statements for compliance with laws and regulations under both IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards
- Collaborate with accounting leadership to provide insights into department processes, policies, and procedures
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting close responsibilities.
- Review and analyze routine and recurring accounting transactions prepared by corporate accounting staff and contractors
- Understand and apply oil and gas industry-specific concepts and prepare meaningful financial information, analysis, and reports and understand financial statement impacts related to functional area
- Assist with internal reporting package preparation
- Understand risks and execute in accordance with internal control structure
- Drive continuous improvement for existing processes and procedures, specifically regarding E&P specific accounting and assessment of critical accounting matter
- Lead complex, high-value add projects, provide oversight and guidance, coaching and training to other team members and functional leaders
- Identify opportunities to streamline current processes, specifically identifying key areas for automation improvements
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- 5 years oil/gas accounting experience
- Strong knowledge oil and gas concepts and processes
- Advanced Excel
It Would Be Brilliant If You Also Have
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Small to mid-size company accounting experience
Where and How Much
- LOCATION: Four Corners area in Colorado
- 30 mins from Durango, 1 hour from Pagosa Springs and 1 hour from Farmington NM
- Target Compensation to $100K to $115K DOE
- Discretionary bonus—15%

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
